WEEK FIFTEEN- Daily Log: Thursday, June 6, 2007

- Today was a very busy day at co-op because Mme. Mercer had a lot of little jobs set out for me. Most of the jobs had to do with the grade eight graduation, and everyone is getting a little stressed about it. I am doing as much as I can to eliminate this stress by doing whatever job is needed to be completed, and what Mme. Mercer wants me to do.
- When I got to co-op this afternoon, I found some jobs in my bin. Mme. Mercer wanted me to file the flashcards that I had been using for my unit with the grade sixes. I had to separate them because they were mixed from two different units; au restaurant and la pizza. I also had to put them into the correct grade level which is split into two binders.
- Class time rolled around very fast, and they were going to be catching up on work and watching a french movie. I had to watch the class for a few minutes while Mme. Mercer did a few jobs of her own. The class was surprisingly very quiet and listened to me when I had to remind them to stay focused. I also helped some with the work they were doing. When Mme. Mercer came back, she wanted me to put the yearbook pages in order and put them into a folder that will be sent to the priting services. Mme. Mercer had misplaced the title page for the yearbook, so I went looking for it and found it in the graduation binder. As it turned out, one person did not have a picture for their graduation. So, Mme. Mercer wanted Brian and I to search through Mr. Tallevi's classroom, and let me tell you, this was not very fun. His room was very disorganized, and we were unsuccessful in locating the student's picture. Instead, Mme. Mercer resorted to putting a sticker where her picture should have been. I also glued some things to the yearbook.
- During planning time, Mme. Mercer, Brian and I discussed what jobs we would be doing on grad night. We also discussed the power point that Brian will soon be working on. We also made sure that the yearbook got sent to the printer's tonight so that they will be done in time. Brian and I then sat down to pick the best grad picture of each grad student. We had to look at all of the options for each grade eight, and make a decision. These pictures will appear in the power point. We had to cut them out and put them in an envelope. Lastly, I photocopied an activity the grade sixes will be working on tomorrow. I worked for three and a half hours today.
