WEEK FOUR- Daily Log: Friday, March 23, 2007

• I was sick today, so I stayed home from school in the morning. On a usual day I would not have gone to my placement, however I knew that I had to be there because Mme. Mercer would not be present today due to a dentist appointment. I arrived earlier than usual and got right to typing. I typed up two more charts and realized that the floppy disk is full and won't save anymore charts. On Monday Mme. Mercer will have to give me another floppy disk to fit the remaining charts.
• I then went to class with the supply teacher Mr. Gall. The class took advantage of Mme. Mercer not being there and were really disrespectful to Mr. Gall. It was really hard to maintain order and while I was dictating their test they spoke out and didn't listen. The second class was better behaved and gave my head some rest time. I took groups out to the library where they were told to catch up on unfinished work.
• During planning time I marked the spelling tests and wrote each mark in Mme. Mercer's markbook. I then had to cut construction paper for an upcoming activity involved with the book report. They are going to have to make a bookmark that pertains to their book. I had to measure each slice of paper to be six centimetres and then I had to use a slicer to cut the paper. This was very time consuming because I had to be very precautious when using paper slicer.
• I worked from 11:45-3:15 today- three and a half hours.
