- Today went by very fasy because I did not have any time to even glance at the clock. As soon as I arrived at my placement Mme. Mercer had a task waiting for me. The grade eights had to do a book report on the book called "L'Intrigue a Quebec". Mme. Mercer had a few late book reports come in today, so she supplied me with the answer key and asked me to mark them out of 159. I found this very hard because some of the students' writing is very messy and hard to read. Plus, some did not have their work in order, making it difficult for me to follow the answer key. Also, the answer key did not have the answers to comprehension questions, so I had to compare the students' work with each other and base my marks on them. Since I read the same book in grade eight, I did remember some of the plot, which helped me mark.
- My next job was to re-stamp the grade eight class's seatwork from yesterday. Mme. Mercer had all the students that did not finish their work yesterday, finish it today. I had to replace each "Travailer Incomplet" to "OK". This was just as long and tedious as it was yesterday.
- After this, Mme. Mercer asked me to make eight copies of a quiz, front and back.
- Mme. Mercer covered a grade eight class during her normal planning time, so I accompanied her there. While we were there, she asked me to look over the predictions in the grade eight yearbook. These predictions are called "the Crystal Ball" and include humourous predictions about what the students will be doing in the future. My job was to make sure these predictions were appropriate. I worked for three and a half hours today.
