WEEK SEVEN- Daily Log: Friday, April 13, 2007

  • The first thing I did today was accept a pile of freshly written spelling tests from Mme. Mercer to mark. These spelling tests are called dictees and the students have to write out the word correctly in french and give the english meaning of each word. I marked six different classes worth of dictees- three grade eight classes and three grade six classes. It is sometimes very hard to mark these tests because I have to be careful to not contradict myself with my marking.
  • After marking all of the spelling tests I had to record the marks on each class list.
  • Yesterday, Mme. Mercer came across another chart while we were cleaning out the storage room. So when I finished with the tests I began to type yet another chart. I also had some time to proofread as well.
  • My next task required that I work with Brian; we had to laminate several posters belonging to Mme. Mercer. Mrs. Cekota, the ESL teacher gave a us a brief, but effective lesson on how to use the laminator and Brian and I seemed to work very quickly and safely. We have about seven more posters to do on Monday. I worked for three and a half hours today.
